He’s been up to 97 mph on the fastball this spring, with 17” of carry from an average release. For me, the fastball plays down from velocity, as the results vs inferior competition are misleading. Best pitch here is the 2-plane curveball at 80 mph, which is drawing 50% whiffs thus far. There’s a bullet slider here at 85 mph, which has draw results but has had variance in terms of shape.
