Connor Marshburn is a physically imposing right-hander at 6’6” 250lbs who brings quality stuff and strike-throwing ability. He posted a solid 3.51 ERA over 74.1 innings in 2025 while showcasing a fastball that sits in the low-to-mid 90s and touches 95 mph with plus sink and run. The arsenal features a sweeper and developing cutter that generate chase and weak contact. His east-west approach and relatively modest strikeout rate (8.23 K/9) suggests the stuff doesn't miss as many bats as the velocity and movement would indicate. The command profile is solid but inconsistent, as elevated walk rates and a tendency to fall behind in counts force him to challenge hitters with hittable pitches that lead to hard contact when his execution wavers. If Marshburn can tighten his strike-throwing and unlock more swing-and-miss from his arsenal through better pitch tunneling and sequencing in 2026, he profiles as a potential back-end starter with innings-eating ability and durability as his carrying tools.

Thach is a big bodied 1B with plus bat speed and power, posting a 113.5 mph max EV in 2024. With Thach you’re going to get a bit of chase and whiff, but the hit tool projects as average all things considered. The power production has been off the charts, both at UNC-W and on the Cape, and won’t slow down in pro ball. You’re looking at a potentially a low average, 25-30 HR, everyday 1B type.
