One of the biggest examples of NCAA Baseball’s growth is the interest in the gambling market. We’re going to cater to that interest with some top notch College Baseball picks that will give you an extra sweat on the game and net you a profit!

Opening Day College Baseball Picks For February 14th

(All bets are to win 1 unit)

8:00 PM ET: -166 Vanderbilt at Grand Canyon +130 (O/U 13.5)

PROBABLE PITCHERS

Vanderbilt: JD Thompson (2024: 52 IP, 4.15 ERA, 74 K, 18 BB, 2.29 SIERA)

Grand Canyon: Isaac Lyon (2024: 81.2 IP, 3.97 ERA, 79 K, 16 BB, 3.22 SIERA)

Both starting pitchers in this matchup are proven studs. Thompson is another product of the Vanderbilt pitching factory. Lyon was a First Team All WAC starting pitcher last season. Add in fresh bullpens and it seems we are destined for a low scoring matchup.

The Commodores were pitiful offensively last season ranking 129th nationally and 10th in the SEC with an .840 Team OPS. Tim Corbin and the VandyBoys thought they added some much needed pop in the lineup in James Madison transfer Mike Mancini and true freshman Brodie Johnston. Both guys suffered preseason injuries and will be out for an extended period of time.

Grand Canyon is used to the Opening Weekend spotlight. This is the 3rd straight season that the Lopes are hosting the MLB Desert Invitational. In each of the prior years GCU knocked off Tennessee 4-3 on MLB Network in 2023, and USC 8-1 on MLB Network in 2024.

You can count on the Lopes being competitive in a low scoring winter-night-game in the desert where the ball won’t fly as good as it typically does in the hot dry air. If you are bold take the moneyline. We recommend the Under 13.5 because Thompson could definitely shove us into a locker.

The Bet: (-115 BetMGM) Under 13.5 Vanderbilt/Grand Canyon (Play this to 11.5)

1:00 PM ET: +230 Michigan vs Virginia -315 (O/U 12.5)

PROBABLE PITCHERS

Michigan: Dylan Vigue (2024: 54.2 IP, 7.90 ERA, 40 K, 44 BB, 5.16 SIERA)

Virginia: Jay Woolfolk (2024: 62.1 IP, 5.92 ERA, 67 K, 40 BB, 4.23 SIERA)

Dylan Vigue had a rough freshman year with the weight of Opening Day Friday starter expectations. His attempt at a bounce back year could get watered down in his 1st start this season by one of the most potent lineups in the entire country.

Virginia Ace, Evan Blanco, is missing from action this week in Puerto Rico due to injury. In result Jay Woolfolk is stepping up into the Friday role. Woolfolk had a roller coaster of a 2024 season himself.

There are some offensive studs in this matchup. Virginia may account for nine runs themselves with Henry Ford, Harrison Didawick, Henry Godbout, Jacob Ference, and Eric Becker all returning for the Cavaliers.

Mitch Voit posted a .291 batting average, .941 OPS, 14 home runs, and 20 doubles last season while battling arm soreness that caused him to get offseason surgery. Michigan, as a northern ballclub, has been swinging inside the gym daily and will be ready to clobber some baseballs. Defensively the Wolverines probably haven't had many defensive reps because of their local weather.

A game with both starting pitchers getting knocked around and some possible defensive miscues would not be surprising in this one.

The Bet: (-115 Bet Rivers) Over 12.5 Michigan/Virginia (Play this to 14)
